Happy Birthday to my Husband!!
For David's Birthday we went out to a local restaurant that we had read some great reviews about. Rumba Island Bar & Grill was such a great place and the food was AMAZING!
Then after dinner and drinks we headed back home and had some cake that Logan and I made.

Even the sign is cool.... Logan thought we would be eating with pirates!

BUGS

Monday, August 15, 2011
In Las Vegas we had scorpions and fire ants, nothing you really want to run across. Here in Florida we have all kinds of interesting bugs and reptiles and they are not small. Here are a few of the interesting things that share our yard.

Grandma spotted this one from the kitchen window, Logan was so excited he wanted to catch it and keep it.

I have no idea what kind of Caterpillar it is, but it sure was interesting to look at.

There are sooooo many Lizards here, you step outside and see a dozen. Logan loves to try and catch them with his little net. So far he has caught one and then let it go.

This little Lizard was showing off for the ladies.

So cool!

I am so not a fan of spiders and David found this one on the side of the house, the size of this thing... legs and all is almost a pack of cigarettes... Yeah they are BIG!

At night the Frogs come out, this is a big boy!

Another frog we found on the front porch.

More photos of our back yard, no wonder we have such interesting things creeping around our house.

Ok so this guy may look like your average grasshopper, but let me tell you its not... Seriously it was the size of a pack of cigarettes and it jumps and flies!! This thing decided to join Grace and I while we were sitting on the back patio, I wanted to get another photo of it with a pack of smokes next to it to prove how big it was.... below is a video the Grace took of me making my approach to this bug.

Yeah laugh all you want, but that thing was huge and we had no idea where it took off to....it could have flown over and landed on us....were soo freaked out!!!!

LILLY'S BIRTHDAY PRESENT

Sunday, August 7, 2011
For Lilly's Birthday Grandma promised that once we got to Florida she would get Lilly her own little play house. Grandma had done this exact same thing for Logan when he turned 1 year old. So now that we are here and settled in, it was time for Lilly to get her house.

David put it together with help from the kids and I. I read the instructions, Logan handed daddy the screws and helped hold things and Lilly yelled at daddy to hurry up because she wanted in her new house.

The walls are up....

Daddy securing the roof on and Lilly demanding he get out of her house.

Logan is helping by holding the roof down while daddy puts the screws in.

Lilly asking if the house is ready and can she go in now..

Logan checking out the new house while Lilly rings the door bell and open and closes the door.

The kids love the new house!!

CRAZY!!!!!

Wednesday, August 3, 2011
Things have been a little crazy around here!!

Lilly's health was a concern before we left for Florida, 5 days before we were due to fly out we noticed Lilly didn't seem to be feeling very well. We took her to the doctor and found that she had a ear infection. We were given antibiotics to treat it and were told she would be well enough to fly.

Just a few days after we arrived in Florida I noticed that Lilly wasn't acting like herself again and also that she had a white film covering the inside of her mouth, my best guess was she got thrush from the antibiotics. David and I ended up taking Lilly to the ER to get the thrush taken care of and its a good thing we did.

When the doctor checked out Lilly she agreed that she has thrush and a bad case of it, but there was something else she was more concerned about and she ordered chest X-Rays for Lilly.

They then tell us that from the look of the first set of X-Rays, Lilly has pneumonia! But they want to take another set of X-Rays just to be sure since the first set didn't turn out as well as they would have liked since Lilly would not hold still. We are told that if she does have pneumonia that they will have to hospitalize her for a few days to get the treatment going!

We do the 2nd set of X-Rays and they come back to tell us that yes she has pneumonia, they decided to give Lilly a breathing treatment and a shot of some major antibiotics so we could go home and not have to keep Lilly in the hospital, Thank God!

We have to keep a close eye on Lilly, make sure she takes all the medications, keep her away from water, no extreme temperature changed and lots of rest for the next 10 days.

So we are going to be house bound for awhile, but that's ok with us as long as Lilly gets better and once she is all better then we can hit the beach!!

WHERE WE LIVE

Saturday, July 30, 2011
I wanted to share with y'all our new neighborhood, its a dramatic change from Las Vegas... it is so beautiful here, green everywhere and big Ole trees covered in Spanish moss!

The best things about our new neighborhood is the fact that we have a jungle in our backyard with a river, two ponds... one directly across the street where a couple of Otters live, the side yard next to our house is a big lot of green grass for the kids to play in and its very quite street that is mostly families, (3 kids Logan's age).

Here is our street, we live on the left hand side.

So nice, clean and quiet!

Here is the pond across the street.

The Otters live here in this pond. I will keep trying to get a photo of them.

Typical Florida weather, Logan and I were walking around taking photos when all of a sudden it started raining.

Our back yard... straight into a jungle!

Logan Dancing in the rain!!

More dancing...
